This Privacy Policy explains how Voyage Vault (“the App”) and the website at voyagevaultapp.com (together, “Services”) handle your information.

Voyage Vault is developed and operated by Possibility Studio LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By using Voyage Vault, visiting our website, or participating in our beta programs (including TestFlight), you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What Voyage Vault Does

Voyage Vault is a personal finance and travel app. It helps you:

  • Organize trips and trip-based budgets

  • Track accounts and transactions (including multiple currencies)

  • Store travel-related notes (e.g., Schengen visa days, trip details)

  • Attach photos of receipts and other documents

  • Optionally sync your data securely across your Apple devices via iCloud

Because we handle financial and travel-related information, we take privacy and data protection very seriously.

2. Information We Collect

We collect different types of information depending on how you use Voyage Vault.

2.1 Information you enter into the app

All financial and travel data you manually enter stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account (if sync is enabled). This may include:

  • Trip details (names, dates, locations, notes)

  • Accounts (names, currencies, balances you enter)

  • Transactions (amounts, dates, descriptions, categories, notes, currencies)

  • Photos and attachments (e.g., receipts, confirmations)

  • Travel-related metadata (e.g., Schengen days tracking, trip notes)

We do not automatically import data from your bank unless you explicitly connect a service that does so in the future. If we add such integrations later, we will update this policy and clearly explain what is shared and with whom.

2.2 Information you provide through the website or email

If you visit our website or contact us, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Any information you include in messages or support requests

  • Beta sign-up details (e.g., whether you travel frequently, devices you use)

2.3 Automatically collected information

To improve stability and usability, we may collect:

  • Crash reports and diagnostics (via Apple or third-party crash reporting tools)

  • Basic usage information, such as:

    • App version

    • Device model and OS version

    • Anonymous usage events (e.g., “created first trip”, “added account”, “imported transactions”)

This information is generally aggregated and not linked to your name or contact information, and is used to understand how the app is performing and where users may be getting stuck.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs inside the app.

Our website may also collect standard server logs and basic analytics (e.g. page views, referrers) to help us understand usage and improve the site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the App and Services

  • Sync your data between your devices via iCloud (if enabled)

  • Diagnose and fix technical issues, including crashes and performance problems

  • Analyze general usage patterns to improve features and onboarding

  • Respond to your questions, support requests, and feedback

  • Communicate with you about updates, beta programs, and new features (you can opt out of non-essential emails)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Where Your Data Lives

4.1 On your device

Most Voyage Vault data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s storage technologies (e.g., Core Data). We do not have automatic access to this local data.

4.2 iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed by Apple.

  • Your iCloud data is tied to your Apple ID and governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy.

  • We do not know your iCloud password and do not have direct access to your iCloud data.

  • We only interact with your data through Apple’s APIs on your devices, as permitted by you and Apple.

4.3 Backups

If you back up your device via iCloud or your computer, Voyage Vault data may be included in those backups. Those backups are managed by Apple or your chosen backup provider, not by us.

4.4 Support communications

If you email us or send feedback (including through TestFlight), any information you provide may be stored in our email, ticketing, or support systems.

5. TestFlight & Beta Programs

When you participate in a beta (including via Apple’s TestFlight):

  • Apple may share anonymized crash logs and usage metrics with us so we can identify bugs and performance issues.

  • If you choose to send feedback through TestFlight, we receive the information you submit (including optional screenshots and diagnostics).

  • Beta builds may contain additional logging and diagnostics compared to production versions, solely for debugging and improving the app.

We use beta data only to:

  • Fix issues

  • Improve performance

  • Refine features before public release

We do not share beta data with third parties for marketing or advertising.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We may use third-party services to help us operate and improve Voyage Vault, such as:

  • Crash reporting and analytics tools

  • Email and newsletter services

  • Website hosting and analytics providers

These providers may process limited personal data on our behalf (for example: a crash report associated with an anonymized identifier, or your email address if you sign up for updates).

We require that these providers use your data only for our specified purposes and protect it appropriately.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Data stored in the app and iCloud remains under your control as long as you keep using the app, until you delete the app data or your iCloud data.

  • Support emails and beta feedback may be retained for a reasonable period to help us track and resolve issues and improve the app.

  • If you unsubscribe from newsletters or marketing emails, we keep the minimal information required to respect your opt-out.

You can usually manage or delete your data directly on your devices (e.g., by deleting trips, transactions, or the app itself).

If you’d like us to delete or anonymize data we hold outside the app (e.g., support emails or mailing-list entries), please contact us (see Section 12).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Using secure communication channels where possible (e.g., HTTPS)

  • Relying on Apple’s secure storage and iCloud infrastructure

  • Restricting access to systems and services that handle user data

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if we become aware of a security issue.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you

  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • The right to request deletion of your data

  • The right to object to or restrict certain processing

  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • The right to data portability in some cases

Some data is under your direct control on your device or in iCloud. In those cases, you may need to update or delete it directly on your device or through Apple.

10. Children’s Privacy

Voyage Vault is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

  • If we make significant changes, we will post the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.

  • The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will indicate when the latest changes took effect.

Your continued use of Voyage Vault after changes have been posted means you accept the updated policy.
